On the visit
Edmonds dishwasher repair: what the technician checks
First the technician asks what you have seen and pulls any stored error codes. Then the dishwasher runs a service cycle while each stage is watched. Does it fill to the right level? If not, the inlet valve and its screen are next. Does the wash motor drive both spray arms with force? If not, the motor, the chopper assembly and the arms themselves get inspected. Does the water leave? The filter, sump, drain pump and hose, including the air gap or high loop under the sink, are checked in order. Poor drying leads to the heating element and the high-limit thermostat, both metered. A unit that won’t start at all points to the door latch, the control board and power at the junction box. Once a part fails its test, you hear which one and why.
Bosch turns up often in remodeled Edmonds kitchens, with Miele, Thermador and KitchenAid close behind in panel-ready versions, while Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire, Maytag and Samsung serve the kitchens that haven’t been opened up yet. Built-ins take extra time because the panel and trim come off, and we protect the cabinet faces and the floor while the unit is out. In condos, a shared drain line sometimes causes the backup; if the clog is past the dishwasher, we tell you who handles it. New to us? Mention it on the call or check the first-repair box online, and your first repair with us takes up to $15 off its price. The visit itself is $85, absorbed into the repair price when you give the go-ahead; without the repair, it is the only line on the invoice.
