How dryer repair in Edmonds gets diagnosed
The technician begins at the back of the dryer, not the front. Airflow is checked first, because a blocked vent can make every other test misleading: the lint screen, its housing, the transition duct and the hood outside. Then the cabinet opens. On an electric dryer the meter goes to the thermal fuse, the high-limit and cycling thermostats, and the heating element, comparing continuity and resistance against the model’s specifications. On a gas dryer the sequence is the igniter, the flame sensor and the valve coils. A dryer that won’t turn at all gets the door switch, the belt switch, the motor and the start circuit. The outlet gets a reading as well; if one leg of the dryer circuit is dead, that belongs to an electrician. Only then is the failed part named and priced.
Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore and GE dryers fill most Edmonds laundry rooms, with LG, Samsung and Electrolux models paired to matching front-load washers, and a few Speed Queen machines that owners hang on to for good reason. Compact Bosch and Miele dryers turn up in remodeled spaces and some condos, often as ventless condenser units that need their own filters and condenser kept clean. Stacked units in apartments are tighter to reach but use the same parts. If this is your first repair with us, say so when you book or tick the box, and up to $15 comes off the repair. On the visit itself: the $85 becomes part of the repair price if you approve the work, and if you decide against it, that $85 is everything you owe.
